This tour takes us through a number of ecosystems including wetlands, sand hills, river valley, plains and forested regions, in the mountain zone of the National Park. Traveling through these different areas offers the greatest diversity of wildlife. The tour takes us North East towards Edmonton to an area of the Park that few coaches travel through. The guide will be speaking on subjects more specific to this area such as the railroad history, mining and logging, the control fire that went out of control and how this fire is now perceived.

This is an information packed tour on the way to the Hot Springs. Including the stops for wildlife, the tour generally takes 1.5 hours to get to the Hot Springs. Once there, we generally allow guests 1.5 hours for a walk, soak and or dinner /dessert depending on the time of day and the groups' time frame. Generally there is time for 2 of the 3 activities. The return trip is generally shorter (about 1 hour)depending on the change of wildlife. The entrance and towels are included, however bathing suit rental is not covered.

FAQ

Q Are we going to run into mosquitoes?
A Very rare on this tour.

Q What if it is raining?
A Miette Hot Springs / Wildlife Tour can be better for viewing wildlife in a light drizzle. If the rain is cascading down, the wildlife viewing can be poor. But on those days, there is nothing better to do than to sit in the Miette Hot Springs, the warmest known hot springs in the Canadian Rockies.

Q What animals are we going to see?
A In May and June, we generally see black bears. The record for one trip one way is 13 bears. Bull Elk, deer, coyotes, beaver, birds including Bald Eagles, mountain sheep, mountain goats and the occasional moose are seen on this tour regularly. Our motto "The more you get out and about, the greater your chances of seeing a variety of wildlife."
